In December 2017, a simple idea was born out of a deep understanding of community needs: Sthaana. Initially, our vision was straightforward—to create an online platform that listed local businesses, providing them visibility and connecting them to potential customers. But soon, we realized visibility alone wasn't enough. Small businesses faced deeper challenges in entering and thriving in the market. This insight reshaped our mission: we decided not just to list businesses but to empower them.
Our first major innovation came in the form of a food delivery platform—a game-changer for Karimnagar at the time. Back in 2017, no major food delivery service operated in the city. By partnering with local eateries, we provided them with a dashboard to manage orders, update menus, and track business performance. At the same time, we launched a dedicated app for delivery partners, allowing them to receive and fulfill orders efficiently.
As our platform grew, we recognized that dining experiences mattered just as much as home delivery. We introduced a real-time table booking service, ensuring customers could reserve tables without the hassle of long wait times. This service was warmly received, enhancing the restaurant experience and strengthening customer satisfaction.
Understanding that convenience extended beyond dining, we set our sights on healthcare accessibility. We partnered with hospitals and clinics, launching a hospital appointment booking system that allowed patients to schedule consultations with ease. Initially, we collaborated with fewer than ten hospitals, but as our user base expanded, so did our partnerships, helping even more people secure timely medical care.
Then came another major milestone—grocery delivery. By teaming up with local grocery stores, we streamlined shopping, offering a seamless way for people to order essentials from the comfort of their homes. This service proved invaluable during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring that families had access to daily necessities while minimizing exposure to the virus.
What started as a small venture with a bold vision evolved into a thriving team of 25 professionals, each contributing uniquely to our mission of transforming the local business landscape.
In 2018, Sthaana was recognized as one of the top 200 innovations in the Startup India Telangana Yatra, a 20-day journey covering 12+ districts.
By redefining convenience and enhancing accessibility, Sthaana became a trusted name in Karimnagar. More than just a service provider, it stood as a pillar of support during a challenging time, strengthening the local community.
Though Sthaana closed its doors in August 2020, its impact lives on. The solutions we introduced—food delivery, table booking, hospital appointments, and grocery services—paved the way for future innovations in the city. The relationships we built, the businesses we empowered, and the problems we solved continue to shape local entrepreneurship in Karimnagar.
While operational, Sthaana offered a dedicated mobile app.
